Introducing Dr Alyssa Fraser, Blue House Head of School

In August 2017, Blue House will welcome Dr Alyssa Fraser to it’s team as Head of School.

Dr Fraser joins Blue House with vast international experience and in particular with a strong belief and advocacy of the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood.  Dr Fraser is an ambassador for children, believing in children as the world’s most treasured and precious resource, and taking seriously the important role she is privileged to play in children’s and families lives within the schooling community.

Dr Fraser’s experience is varied across borders, across educational philosophies and across ages which provides us with a rich set of experiences and opportunities to explore together.  Dr Fraser holds a Degree and Masters in Elementary Education, a Masters in Educational Psychology and a PhD in Educational Leadership.  She has worked previously in Singapore, as well as in Hong Kong, Tokyo and New York in roles such as Early Learning Centre Teacher and Kindergarten Teacher to Head of Grade Teacher and Educational Director.

Of key importance to Blue House is leadership, for our children, families and for our team.  This appointment places a candidate in this key role that embodies our belief that children should be placed firmly at the centre of our eco-system, and that our team, philosophy, environment, community and resources stem out from each child, creating a circle of learning that is powerful, connected and diverse.
